Customer Reviews
Better than a screen protector; not quite as good as a PlayGear Pocket
If you bought a PSPgo, the smaller size was probably a big factor. While the other PSP models were certainly portable, they weren't always as pocketable, especially if you used those near-indestructible (and pocket-hogging) Logitech PlayGear Pocket cases. When I got my PSPgo, I wanted a case that could protect the screen from other objects in my pocket (since the PSPgo was small enough to allow it), yet small enough so as to keep the PSPgo's smaller form factor in the first place. After reading and watching reviews of the other PSPgo cases, I'm confident that this nameless, featureless, completely unofficial $0.01 case suits my needs perfectly and may even be the best case for the system, period.
The case itself is just two pieces of plastic that snap on quite snugly. The top part does not wiggle at all, which is great because I didn't want any particles sneaking in and causing scratches if the screen wiggled. I didn't notice any difference in screen clarity either. There are holes cut out so you can still hear the speakers and access the PS button.
While it is true that you might get a few dust particles in between the screen and the top case, take comfort in the fact that you can always take off the case and try again. Alternatively, you could find a Zagg cart at your local mall and pay $30 or so for the screen and perfect installation, but it is just a screen (not a case), and remember, this PSPgo case was only $3 shipped!
The bottom part of the case does wiggle a little bit, but not enough that you'd think the PSPgo is going to pop right out. In fact, you can only hear it wiggle, not see it. The case allows access to everything: the headphones, multi-use USB connector, power switch, wireless switch, M2 slot, and buttons for the screen, volume, and music modes on top. Pressing the buttons on top does take a bit more effort, but you should still be able to press them even if you recently cut your nails. Reaching the power & wireless switches is more difficult, but you never feel like you have to take the case off. The PlayGear Pocket was better in this area, but if you really wanted to, you just cut the "lip" in the area for easier access. Admittedly, the case does make it difficult to reach the M2 slot, but reaching that slot was difficult even without a case, and there really is no need to constantly reach for it anyway.
The case may even help your gameplay. If you had big hands that kept putting the PSPgo in sleep mode on accident, playing with the case on will certainly prevent your hand from reaching the switch. Also, the added bulk (small as it may be) will give you a better, more confident grip; if the smaller size of the PSPgo made you hold the system more daintily (consciously or unconsciously), you can play as your fierce old self with the case on, knowing that the system won't break when you go nuts on the d-pad.
You will probably need to take off the case when you use the official PSPgo Cradle (I don't have the cradle but reviews of other PSPgo cases mention this as well), and you probably still don't want to drop your PSPgo in this case or sit on it in the same way that you can sit on your PSP-3000 in its PlayGear Pocket. Still, for everyday use, and at the price of one penny, this case can't be beat. I'd have rated this a 9/10 because it's more difficult to reach some of the switches, but the price bumps it up to a 10/10, or a full 5 stars.
One final note: there appears to be several different kinds of crystal cases for the PSPgo. One kind also protects the shoulder buttons (this one doesn't). Another kind lets you fold out the back so you can use the case as a movie stand (this one doesn't either), but I'm not sure that's even useful since you wouldn't even be able to connect your headphones that way. With or without a case, you can have the PSPgo stand up (headphones attached) with something like two decks of cards and some kind of backing.
Sweet case
This case is beyond worth it. I am not even talking about the price. I own the psp 3000 and its fold logitech case and I can tell you this case is just as good. It keeps the system thin and portable since the plastic is not as thick as the logitech case but it keeps my go safe. With this case I feel free to put my go next to my keys and know the system is safe. Ok forget all the great things. The price is great and I would pay $10.00 for this case and call it a deal. Just buy it. Seriously if you have a GO you get this case.
Great case for a penny
When i saw this i couldn't believe it. I paid $20 for a case in best buy. This case is a penny and is better than the one i bought in best buy. If you have a psp go there is no reason you should not purchase this case
